Calligraphy

Monday 06/07: Calligraphy

Calligraphy, known as "äčŠæł•" (shĆ« fǎ) in Chinese, is a revered form of visual art in China that involves writing Chinese characters with a brush and ink. With a history spanning over 2,000 years, it is not only a means of communication but also a profound artistic expression that reflects the writer’s emotions, thoughts and personality. The rhythm, flow and composition of the strokes are crucial elements that convey the artist’s inner feelings and state of mind. Each piece of calligraphy is a unique work of art, showcasing the calligrapher’s skill and creativity.

Chinese Painting

Tuesday 07/07: Chinese painting

Chinese painting, known as "ć›œç”»" (guĂł huĂ ) in Chinese, is a traditional form of visual art that has evolved over thousands of years. It is characterised by the use of brush and ink on paper or silk, and it often incorporates traditional themes such as landscapes, flowers, birds and figures.

Tai Chi

Wednesday 08/07: Tai Chi

Tai Chi, known as "ć€Ș极" (tĂ i jĂ) in Chinese, is a Chinese martial art that has become one of the world’s most popular forms of exercise. Tai Chi uses soft, slow and continuous movements to train the body and focus the mind. Studies have shown that practising Tai Chi can improve one’s health, reduce stress and provide relief for ailments such as high blood pressure, arthritis and osteoporosis.

Plant pounding printing

Thursday 09/07: Plant pounding printing

Plant pounding printing "怍物拓染" (zhĂ wĂč tĂ  rǎn) is a traditional Chinese craft where fresh leaves and flowers are placed on fabric and pounded so their natural pigments and shapes transfer directly onto the cloth. It preserves the plant’s real colors and textures, creating organic, one‑of‑a‑kind patterns.

Kite

Friday 10/07: Kite

Kite, "风筝" (fēngzheng) in Chinese, is one of China’s most iconic handcraft arts — a blend of bamboo engineering, paper‑silk artistry, and folk symbolism. It has over 2,000 years of history, originating from early wooden “birds” made by Mozi and later improved by Luban.
