Jauffrey Bareille

Jauffrey Bareille comes from France and started to learn Chinese when he was in secondary school, as a second foreign language. Since then, Chinese language and culture have always been the focus of his studies and his major career drivers. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in English/Chinese as foreign languages applied to international business at the University of La Rochelle, he took a Master’s degree in tourism and leisure management applied to the Chinese market at the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management – University of Angers. Within this framework, he has been to China several times to study, notably at the Ocean University of China in Qingdao, and have worked for local and international companies (translation agency, web services company, travel agency…) in Qingdao and Chongqing.

At the end of his studies, he chose the Confucius Institute of Pays de la Loire as a final internship and joined the team as a cultural and pedagogical officer for more than six years.  He has also teached Chinese in higher and secondary education for more than 5 years ; and  has been Freelancer (self-employed) in consulting, interpretation and translation for 7 years.

Since the 2nd of January 2018, he has been Luxembourg Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Luxembourg.
